A Weekend Away from Paradise
Yes, you’re on the campground blog and yes, I know the pictures don’t look right. Actually, we snuck away this weekend. If you live at the ocean, then a mountain destination is an obvious choice.
It was Steven’s 30th College Reunion in Lyndonville Vermont. Fiber College 2010 is over (except for the follow-up correspondence) and the campground is pretty quiet before the Common Ground Fair.
Dad offered to watch over the world while we went off in search of old friends, red trees and hiking in the Northeast Kingdom and we jumped at the chance for a little getaway.
It’s warm and sunny and we spent the morning hiking and the afternoon listening to great bluegrass music on Burke Mountain. Tonight we’re staying in a pool house on Darling Hill and tomorrow we’ll be back in Searsport (after we stop at a farm in Peacham to see what they have for colored fleeces).
I know that you come to Life on Penobscot Bay for the stories of Searsport, but I hope that you enjoy these shots of the weekend here in Vermont.
