Changing Tides
Have you all been caught in high winds, high tides and high emotions? Seems like that’s all we’ve been seeing here in Searsport lately. Steven and I just came back from another walk around the park after last night’s sleet and freezing rain storm. In the two decades we’ve been here, we’ve never had as much wind damage…Astrig: “that’s OK ’cause we’ll get a mega chipper again and we can cover all the trails and pathways with fresh wood chips” Steven: “Are you kidding me?!? Where are we going to find 100 people to clean all of these branches, trees and mess before we open in less than a month?” Time to make a pot of coffee and a bit of catch up.

Sea water makes natural dyes brighter. I did a dye talk at the Penobscot Marine Museum last Saturday and Steven carried all of my water up from the beach…Maggie tried to help but got easily distracted

When did the tides start coming in so quickly? We were simmering dye pots and roasting sausages one minute…the next we’re scrambling to get out of the water!
