Fiber College Makers Festival on Labor Day Weekend
Picture this: You gather your friends, family, nieces and nephews and go camping one last time before school starts. Spend your days at the campground feeling relaxed and creative. Move between studios, take classes, and learn new crafts. Rest at the beach or deep in the garden. Finish the day with campfire dinners and repeat the fun tomorrow!

August 30-31, 2025
We’ve asked 12 artists to design classes that allow you the freedom to drop in and out so that you can maximize your time and customize the courses to fit your interests. Love what you’re doing? Stay in that class for three hours (or all day) and learn as much as you can. Tried it and you’re bored? Say goodbye with a smile and a wave and jump into something else in another studio. This is particularly good because if you’re attending the Makers Festival with others, everyone gets to do what they want and come together to tell their stories and show off their projects. Let’s say you and your nephew want to try your hand at punch needle embroidery. After an hour maybe he loves it and wants to stay to finish a patch for his backpack and you’re itching to try out book binding or stitched shibori dyeing techniques. The beauty of the Makers Festival is that you both get to do what you want to do and still be together for lunch and dinner.
Shopping…don’t forget the shopping! If you’re a maker and want to have a table, you’ll find the option on the registration form. If you’re looking for that hand crafted “something special”, come and get a head start on your Christmas shopping 😉

Yes, the Fiber College Makers Festival is open to both campers and non-campers alike…everyone is welcome…but, please leave your pets at home if you’re not camping here. For details about classes, vending tables and registration, click here.
To make the weekend even better, we’ll be participating in the World-wide Porch Party on Saturday August 30…be part this enormous event that honors the tradition of gathering, singing and playing music as a community.
Ask yourself: What if, just for the weekend, we paused our regular routine and spent our days making art and music?
