Hello to all!

My name is Tanya Mitchell, and I am very happy to have joined the fine folks at Searsport Shores this season. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all! Let me tell you a little about myself.  I grew up in Belfast and have lived and worked here on the coast of Maine all of my life.  I have earned my living mostly as a professional writer, a craft that has always been my passion, and I like to dabble in photography as well. Being in an especially picturesque place like Maine, I guess I was born in the right place for such a hobby! I am also the mom of an awesome 10-year-old boy who likes to come along with me on my various adventures, and he occasionally joins me on the job, too!

This season I will be adding my voice to the Searsport Shores blog postings, including stories detailing my favorite day trips to Maine locales such as Rockland, Portland, Bar Harbor, and the neighboring City of Belfast. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about our excursions as much as I enjoy writing about them! And did I mention that I love being in the Great Outdoors almost as much as I like to write? Well, I do! Working here at the campground seems to be a nice fit for someone like myself, because my work here will involve not just one but two of my biggest lifelong loves. As you can probably imagine, I am totally stoked about that!

Over all, I can honestly say we live a pretty full and joyful life here in our little corner of the Pine Tree State, and I can’t wait to share pieces of our life here with each of you!
