Memorial Day Weekend Plans

I’ve always loved Memorial Day weekend…the lilacs scent the air, the warm weather promises to stay, people’s energy shifts to summertime relax…and my birthday usually falls into the holiday weekend…how cool is that?

Traditionally it’s a mildly busy weekend for us at the campground.  A good mix of old friends and new faces ready to relax by a campfire and explore the beaches.  We do a bit of entertaining but generally speaking we stay in the background keeping the campground running smoothly while everyone does their “thing.”

That said…we’ve done a bit of planning:

Friday evening will be a horse shoe pitch…

Saturday at low tide we’ll start a beach bonfire and there will be a treasure hunt for all ages with prizes in several categories

Sunday artist Laurie Sims is coming up from Bath to lead a mosaic workshop…the project will be the children’s playhouse and with the skills you learn you’ll be able to cover anything that stands still once you get home.

Monday Searsport will host a Memorial Day parade…it’s an easy walk along the beach to get into town…a nice way to commute 🙂

In the meantime we’re prepping for your arrival…mowing, gardening, painting and daydreaming…be well!

If you’re coming our way next weekend, you should know that we’re extending our shoulder season rates to include the holiday…so all sites with w/e and on-site parking are $45/night…except for the gold and platinum which are $60/night.  Tent sites without services are all $30/night.
