Happy Earth Day Everyone
Why are we liberal whack jobs if we believe that without clean air to breath, clean water to drink and a guaranteed legacy of beautiful land deeded to future generations we have nothing? Sounds like conservative politics to me. Every day should be Earth Day!

It was supposed to rain all weekend but it didn’t…so after we transplanted perennials for a couple of hours and Steve stacked more of the firewood for the lobster bakes we needed a rest. There were plenty of little broken pieces of dry wood scattered under the wood pile…and we needed to cleaned up around…

Last night Steven and I attended a Searsport Historical Society meeting for a presentation by Kevin Johnson the archivist at the Penobscot Marine Museum. PMM has been gifted 30,000 postcard images from the Eastern Illustration and Publishing Company of Belfast. We looked at slides that showed Searsport before electricity came to Maine’s coast. Down East Magazine is probably familiar to anyone interested in Maine…but did you know about the podcasts too? I’m not usually a fan of “Maine Humor” but Ida LeClair, broadcasting from her double-wide in Mahoosuc Mills is pretty funny…see what you think…”Timmy’s Fallen Down the Well” If your connection or computer doesn’t grant you the…

Today I’m sitting at the computer bleary eyed…so I’m writing this post to justify the nap that’s written…

Does it count if I’m a day late? I took these pictures yesterday morning as promised and then the world and the weather changed the rest of my plans…and in a nod to full disclosure, a pint of cold beer and some friends at Rollie’s took over the evening…but with no further ado, you’ll be…

Remember the last log runs on the Kennebec River when thousands of logs were transported on the water, floating singularly or cabled together in large piles. Well this technique was not lost on this The Little Spruce Island Project when they chose to move some hemlock boards from Viking Lumber across the Penobscot Bay. Check this…
