World Wide Economy in Action

snow in the morningThis morning we awoke to a picture perfect snowfall and a pounding surf. But you know what they say about the weather in New England, if you don’t like the weather, blink.

Yesterday it was warm enough to wear just a cotton sweater down at the beach so after we had gotten all of of the office work done and some painting in the bedroom, JJ and I slipped and slid our way to the water’s edge (still plenty of ice around here) to watch the tug boats bring a large freighter into Mack Point’s docks.freighter at a distance freighter close upIf you look closely, you’ll see Sears Island in the back ground (940 uninhabited acres), Castine on the other side of the Penobscot River, tugboats in the front of the freighter and Wayne Hamilton, Searsport’s harbor master in the tiny (probably 25′) white boat in the foreground.
